Hoping thing will get sorted this week!

It is a beautiful Monday morning here! I have my shirt sleeves rolled up and the sun is amazing, yet everyone else is still bundled up like we were in Greenland.

I ran Saturday. But yesterday I got in my first long run in Italy. I almost ran to Torre Annunziata, but decided against it. Which was smart, as my friend and I went into Napoli in the afternoon to look for some famous pizza, which we never got. But the run was nice, except the return trip was almost exclusively uphill and caused me to slow down considerably. It will take me some time to get used to it, but if I keep this up for a couple months it should make me a much stronger runner. Particularly with all the pollution in the air.

So Napoli, we stopped at a little café, had a couple beers and some pastries and they guy charged us €25! And didn’t give a receipt, plus refused a credit card. He figured we’re tourists and he’ll never see us again, I think I may have to go back and bring the police with me. I’m pretty pissed off. We walked around for a bit, watched the Napoli v Empoli match (which Napoli won easily) then went to try and get some pizza.

As the places were closed we found a little wine shop and we’re just  going to get a couple of cheap bottles. The guy in the store says “buy these, I made them”. Unlabeled bottles, with rubber stoppers in them, for €2,50 a piece, why not? And wouldn’t you know they were probably the best bottles of wine I’ve ever had!

So with no pizza and awesome wine we went back to the apartment, made dinner and watched the end of the second season of Twin Peaks, ahhh 90s TV.

Time for me to get ready for work, so have fun, keep running, and remember; If Gil can run then so can you!
